Its been along time! finally got out today at wsm got on at 1.30pm & was 1st on with a couple of others rigging.I chose my 5.7 & 100lt board, after a fair walk out this kit was fine although i could have easily got going on my Goya, but i couldnt be bothered to waste time & energy going back to get it! The water was the colder side of fresh alright which is why i made sure i made every gybe.Down by the pier the waves were shoulder to head high which made for good jumping & nice to gybe on.
The wind picked up & i was now overpowered & it wasn to far back to the van, so i got the Goya & cranked on some downhaul some i could see were changing down, it was getting busy now with maybe 15 w/surfers & 5 kiters.
1st time ive used this board with 5.7 & it worked really well. Cus it was only a 8m tide the top end stayed shallow which meant it was very smooth with 2-3 ft waves coming in, & the wind had now picked up some more & downwind runs over glassy water were now getting very fast which when pulled upwind & over a 3ft ramp made for some excellent jumps.
A good day & numb hands all part of it.
